Clients, family members and friends have reached out to us regarding the Carr Fire that greatly affected Redding, California, and we thought it would be best to provide an update. If you are unaware of the fire, here is a quick snapshot of its current status, according to Cal Fire.
· Start date: July 23rd
· Size: 98,724 acres
· Containment: 20%
· Casualties: 6
· Structures destroyed: 874
· Active firefighter personnel: 3,388
Unfortunately, we were among the 40,000+ displaced individuals that did have to evacuate due to our proximity to the fire, and left for Sacramento Thursday night. The fire has grown each day, coming within less than two miles from where we live and where our office is located. While some local friends were victims to devastation and looting, we are happy to report that we were entirely unharmed, and that the office was untouched.
As an update, we are now back in Redding as of yesterday, and are officially back to work today. Two of us will be working remotely, but we look forward to returning to our downtown Redding office sometime this week. Regular hours of operation will remain.
We’re very thankful to be safe, and couldn’t feel any more loved. We believe that prayer changes things, and can definitely report that your prayers, housing offers and check-ins provided us with more than just a fresh shot of encouragement. It spoke volumes, and will not be forgotten.
With much love and gratitude,
Your friends at Barton Interactive
